Installation Instructions:

1. Narrow Your Fit: Slide the MicClip onto your radio antenna to the

desired position. For thicker antennas, use the larger cavity. For thinner

ones, use the smaller cavity.

2. Adjust Tension: Hold the ratchet tab, squeeze the MicClip closed, and

release at the tooth that feels secure—ensure it is securely locked.

3. Tighten onto Taper (if needed): For tapered antennas, slide the MicClip

down to settle onto the taper for a secure fit.

4. Engage and Go: Attach your mic to the retention bar, and go make a

difference!

Scott, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. The MicClip is specifically designed to work with tapered antennas and has been used daily on tapered antennas in the field for well over a year. Proper placement matters, which is why we explain this on the product card and demonstrate it in the installation video located just above the review section.

In nearly all cases, ratcheting the MicClip onto the more uniform portion of the antenna and then sliding it down slightly to snug it on the taper resolves fitment concerns. If questions come up, we encourage customers to reach out. We’re always happy to help dial in the fit before it turns into frustration.

Close but not quite there

A lot of antennas are beveled. This product doesn’t account for that. I had to add some tape toward the top of the mount to even it out for the clamp. The clip for the Mic only allows the Mic to attach on the very edge of the Mic itself. Causing it to be a tad bit flimsy. Under the clip for the Mic, remove that rounded plastic part and allow the Mic Clip to slide all the way down the holder. Much more sturdy.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. The MicClip was engineered to fit tapered antennas as well as the vast majority of antenna profiles used in the field. In cases where an antenna has an unusually aggressive taper, shifting the MicClip onto the more uniform section of the antenna usually resolves the fit without the need for modification.

The mic attachment point is intentionally designed to be universal and easy to attach and release the mic during use. What can feel like “flimsiness” is typically just the natural flex in the spring of the mic itself, not the MicClip. Adjusting the molded support the way you suggested would actually increase the chance of the mic binding during removal, which is why we chose the current configuration.

We genuinely appreciate your suggestions and the time you took to share your experience. It’s a mic holder that works for me when I’m responding in my personal vehicle. Otherwise the mic just flaps around. Keeps it tidy and I can hear dispatch because it’s pointing at me. A useful gadget for sure

I bought this so I didn’t have to try to keep my mic clipped to my antenna and so far it’s been great!!!

Great Product

I originally saw this at FDIC and was intrigued. I bought one for my Motorola radio and I love it. Once you find the right position that works for you, just chinch it down and it stays put. Clipping the mic on the mic clip is easy. No more clipping the mic to the antenna. This is a great option if you don’t want to clip the mic to your coat or shirt. It has not messed with the antenna and there has been zero issues with the antenna connection.
