I'm in love with this holster. Very secure, there is no way to let go scissors if it's not intended to. Pulling them out is quite easy - just grab scissors like normally and push the holster with index finger - works every time. Metal belt clip is weakest point, happens once or twice to detach from belt if twisted - maybe making it wider or thicker would resolve problem. Now I'm wearing it on my west, hooked between 2 MOLLE loops and it sits tight. Still great product, I've recommend it to my friends.
There is absolutely no chance my shears ever fall out of this thing. That said u cannot remove them with one hand. The metal clip on the back of the holster that would attach to a belt has sharp metal corners that pull snag loops out of my belt constantly which is a huge let down. I feel this could be mitigated with some simple rounded edges or polishing. Really really wish the shears were removable with just one hand though.
The holster is an excellent design for quick access to my trauma xshears as I’ve tested many others scissors and been disappointed by cutting/strength as a paramedic and will always inform pears of the xshears to be the leading trauma shears.
The holster would be an amazing design if it fitted round a shooters belt or 1.5 belt used by most emery services. I had to cut my belt as the clip made it move and unstable when removing and loading, I needed it to rigid and streamline.
Thanks for the feedback! The mounting plate you have run your belt behind is more intended as a mounting plate for the belt clip. We ship it with a Discreet Carry 1.5' clip but if that does not meet your need we'd suggest sourcing a wider clip and installing it. The mounting plate is designed to accommodate almost any clip.
